Description

Deja News is a database of Usenet news articles that date back to March of 1995 and encompass a whopping 500 gigabytes of storage space. Usenet groups are essentially "message bases", or places where small personal documents on similar topics are posted. Their ultimate goal is to extend the history of their index until almost all of the Usenet is covered since its creation in 1979.

Once you're viewing a message you can view the entire threaded conversation (or simular ones) -- even if it doesn't contain your keywords -- by clicking on the "View Thread" button. Clicking on an author's name will present their posting statistics. You can reply to a message right from Deja News, which is handy if you don't have access to a news server or would rather not load up your reader.
